  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I brought my 2012 RSpec in for an oil change and they tried to do the 15,000 mi service, which I'm not ready to do.
After the oil charge they said I did need 2 things.

i) Fuel Injection Service ( cost $160)

ii) Emission Service

I asked the manager were any part involved in these services and he said no, it's only labor.

Anyone have any experience with either of these...is it needed or this just a way to get more money from me.
It sounds like it is...

Thx.

you didn't mention how many miles are on your car.
if you have 15k or less, all you need is oil change and tire rotation.
please refer to your manual, and ignore what the service dept sales person tells you.

The dealership where I purchased the Genesis quoted $$237 for the 15,000 mile service. I called another dealership in the area and was quoted $118.

Seems these "special services" are just an opportunity for dealerships to gouge us.
