  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've tried a search, but it seems that 17" wheel specs are a little thin on offset. If I have to, I'll work it out with a local shop myself, but I hope someone here knows.

What is the offset of a standard OEM 17" Genesis wheel (my case, 2012, but I don't think it will matter what year)? My understanding is that a standard wheel is 17x6.5, and I can do the math from there. I don't care about width of a custom rim, just want to know what the OEM rim offset spec is.

Thanks!

I don't know what it is but it should be stamped on the inside of the wheel with "et" next to it.

According to the Shop Manual at www.hmaservice.com the 2012 17" wheel spec is as follows:

6.5J×17

But I guess that does not include offset.

The OEM 17" rims have the following information cast into the back:

6.5 x 17 x 31

Presumably the last figure is the offset (31 mm).
