  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I guess I've been spoiled by an excellent home audio system. I'm fine with the mids and treble/highs on my recently acquired 2018 G80, but the bass isn't tight, controlled, or even distinguishable sometimes as a specific pitch.
I've read posts by others about their experiences, yet I'm hoping someone has a new (to me) practical suggestion to improve the bass without aftermarket products or DIY solutions. I've played with various settings and zilch so far.
Thanks ahead of time.

Make sure surround sound is off.
I have a 2017 and the bass sounds sounds very good.

I haven’t seen that word used in respect to my car, but yes. In general, reference is used audio to indicate unvarnished, accurate, clearly representative sound. So if something is processed or colored, it isn’t considered to be a reference piece of equipment.

Hey Marc, just wanted to circle back and say thanks! I changed the audio to reference mode and the bass drastically improved. Using the audio staging reminded me of the 14 speaker Lexicon from my totaled 2017 G80 with almost no bass.

That’s great, and pretty much the experience I had too.
