  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know RWD comes with 19”, Advance 20” & the Performance 21” wheels.
I think 19” better mileage vs 20” & 20” better mileage than 21” wheels.
there must be an advantage of the larger diameter wheels vs smaller diameter wheels. Obvious guess is handling better with bigger wheels.
anything wrong with my logic?

Yup, although I don't necessarily buy into it.
I went down from 20" to 19" with a greater aspect ratio (and better tire than the OE) and got a quieter, smoother ride with better mileage and handling.

What kind of rim and tires did you choose?

Love 'em. Much more smooth and quiet than the OE Michelin's. I also have gained some mileage.

I'm curious Artie. Do you ever drive on Highway 85. I find with the OEM Michelin tires on that freeway only, the tires jiggle back and forth on the rain grooves. Did you notice that with the Michelins? If so, does it also happen with the Pirellis? FYI we have the Advanced Model with the 20" wheels.

Not 85, but there is a section of 580 near me that would do that with the Michelins and it drove (pun intended) me crazy. Rear end wobble / shimmy / vibration that I knew (hoped) were the tires, but thought maybe un-balanced. I had them balanced, but it did nothing.
An Oakland pothole ripped open the two right-side Michelins, and I rode on the rims for 2 blocks to a tire shop that put on some Arroyo's (happy they had something in my size), but that was what inspired me to replace all 4 and get smaller wheels.
Wobble is 90% gone with the Pirelli's. They are just amazing. They were all I would put on my Audi's and I loved them.

Yeah I know it is the tires and the rain grooves. Only happens on 85 and I had the same issue with my Harley.
