  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Took the 5.0 out to the 1/8 mile track and had some fun. This was my first time, so definitely room for improvement on the driver side, but still pulled on a 5.0 stang. Best time was 9.36 @ 79.9. Any tips? Video:

Yikes!!! Please next time you visit you, hold the gear in (-) until you roll to the line, then shift back to drive. (Will put transmission in overdrive, and lead to quicker shifts) And of course heat up tires if you got wideee tires like me, pull ESC fuse. Doing all this, you will run a 8.25 in 1/8 mile. :D Whichactualyyyy converts to like a 12.85 or something like that if on a 1/4 track. Here in SoCal those are event based it seems. So I will have to try to make it to one!

Thanks for the info. I did heat the spin the tires a bit before staging and ran with ESC off (via stock button, not fuse). For overdrive, is there any way of knowing when it's on/off? Can't find anything in the 2013 manual

No since there is no real sport mode. Think of this as a "generic sport mode" its not something you can really just turn off/on I wish that was the case. Yeah and if you have some really, really sticky tires I would just do it by button then, because pulling the fuse with stock bicycle tires (235's) I spun baaaad. Now I have 305's NT555R and I can pull the fuse and still hook. Back to what I was saying, it will be OFF 99% percent of the time, the only time it is activated I guess you would say is when you roll onto the line in (-) and switch back. Try and do it at a red light today if you can.

Momentarily putting the car into manumatic while stopped will force the tranny into 1st gear. Otherwise you will probably be in 2nd.
