  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got back from a 2,300 mile trip. Drove from the U.P. of Michigan, to Detroit, to Rochester, NY, back to Detroit and then back to the U.P. (For those of you not familiar with Michigan, the U.P. is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, also referred to by many as God's Country). I'm not going to go into what an absolute pleasure driving this car was on this trip, but I will address the gas mileage, which I found a little surprising. The first 286 miles across the U.P. to the Mackinaw Bridge is all max 55mph zones. I drove about 60-62 and got 29.8 mpg. Once below the Mack and into the lower peninsula, the speed limit is mostly 70. I drove 70-75 for the 300 miles to Detroit and got 27.6. Then across Canada at 62-70mph and I got 29.1. Then 27.9 for the remainder of the drive in New York at 65-72 mph. I drove predominately in the ECO mode, with some Sport Mode on the interstate, just to have some fun. On my entire trip, I only noticed two 2015/16 Genesis. There might have been more that I didn't notice, but that was it and I'm quite a car watcher, so I was looking. Also, when I got to Rochester, I had my windows tinted and the car detailed. The detailing shop guy that I dealt with said he had never seen a Genesis and was quite interested in an inside out tour of the car and what it could do and all the technology. He said it was the nicest car he had seen in a long time. He was an older guy and in business for quite some time, I'm told. I posted a few weeks ago about how I am impressed with this car in every possible respect and this trip just reinforced that.

Nice report and great mileage. I've seen the same on longer trips - though none nearly so long as yours.

Mostly, I'd like to express my sincere thanks to you for starting a thread that isn't a) b!tching and moaning about something, b) concerning AA or ACP or c) some combination of the two.

I think it was something like Android AA or Apple Car Play - Funny thing is: My car has whatever that stuff is, but I don't care.

I have two cell phones: One is dumb, and one is allegedly smart - and they sit in a shoe box completely turned off - except when I go on a long trip.

My major problem with that sort of thing is the people who use those gadgets, and are weaving all over the road (and worse).

I like the V8 and the A/C (that stands for air conditioning) works pretty good too.

I would like to add to this by saying the wife and I went on a 8,400 mile trip around the US in April. I loved every minuet of it. The car was a joy to drive. What impressed me more than anything was an average MPG of 28.1 for the trip. This was calculated , not what the car said. The lowest was 24.8 mpg to a high of 30.6. I call that great for a 4300+ lb car. And all of this was in NORMAL mode, no ECO or SPORT
We finally learned how to use the GPS and it did a great job.
I just love this car.

Hey, I have a 2015 3.8 Ultra hardly a year old with almost 15,000 miles on it. I have to agree with the above, great road trip car, navigation works really well (once you get the hang of it), and gas mileage often tops 30 on extended trips. The Siruis/XM and Google Search works great for long trips. Love the car, hope I can afford another one when the time comes!

good timing on the thread! I don't visit the forum much but wanted to weigh in on the fuel mileage discussion. car is a 15' 5.0 with 20 in wheels and lowered. 4 people and a trunk FULL of crap made the 1400 mi round trip from eastern WI to central SD. first 80 miles or so is 55mph but the rest was 70 and 80mph interstate except for some construction zones. this is a trip that myself and friends make 2-3 times a year and a little competition has sort of developed seeing who can make 1 way the fastest. I recently installed a valentine 1 and was anxious to get on the highway. I know someone is going to call me reckless but with the cruise set at 90 in the 70 zones we got 26mpg, and 100mph in the 80 zones saw 24 mpg. I know these don't really mean anything but it was interesting nonetheless. the V1 did its job 2 times, but I was actually surprised at the lack of troopers on I90. Everyone was very impressed with the ride quality and how great of a highway car this really is. No more pickup rides west for me.

I don't care how fast you went - my G2 V8 pushes me OK too. And what is a "Valentine 1". At least it sounds like a pleasant change from "apple car play, android" etc. Will it make my car go faster. Sounds nice.

I'm more in tune with substantive driving features - if you haven't guessed already.

Addendum: I just looked up "Valentine 1" -- Know what you're talking about - that's ok, too.
