  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all. I just picked up an 09 Genesis 3.8 a few weeks ago. Definitely loving the car.
My wife actually recently decided that we should also get an SUV. So went from 2 cars with laughably small trunk-space (Lexus GS350 & Inifinit G35 Coupe 6spd) to the Gennie and a Veracruz.
Quick question, as we have 2 Hyundai's, I am not a carrier of 2 keyfobs in 2 cars that have keyless start. These things feel generally quite large in my pocket. If you add on work keys, house keys, and a few other items, it is ridiculous.
Has anyone had success combining into 1 magical key fob? Actually it doesn't have to be magical. Just needs to open the cars and start them.
I don't NEED to carry around my wife's keyfob, but in an emergency situation, the worst place for it to be is in your office desk drawer. So, i've always carried it around. And it has come in handy.

Now that would be cool. Talk about a great motivator for brand loyalty. One fob to rule them all, one fob to find them, one fob to unlock them all, and in the parking lot start them.

sounds like a good idea at first but most likely not do-able/practical. I doubt the Hyundai dealership/tech could do this, even if they could they probably wouldnt due to privacy issues or if you sell one of the cars. also you wouldnt be able to pick which car to lock, unlock, etc.... there is only 1 button for each mode.

cool idea though. welcome to the forums and enjoy your new car(s)!

Aftermarket alarm manufacturers have this feature; ie: 2 car operation for lock/unlock/remote start off of 1 remote, but you would still the physical key for older cars, or smart keys for newer cars.

I guess that doesn't really help in this application, huh.... ;)
