  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got my car out of the shop today with the new head unit installed and was told there are 2 more new recalls out (parts ordered). One involves something about the dummy housing being replaced by the windshield wipers? The reason I was told is they have been receiving complaints of wind noise. The other had to do with something under the seat where a part will be inserted to apparently secure some electical connections that can come loose.

So far to date...I've had 4 recalls...tires, back tail lights for water and the two above. I guess there's some to expect with all new cars...especially new models.

I can confirm this. Had my car in yesterday and the guy told me they ordered parts for 2 recalls.

These latest "campaigns" as Hyundai Canada likes to call them (they are not safety recalls) have already been done on my car at a recent service. I think they have been out for a while - at least here in Canada. One involves replacement of the Plastic Trim between the base of the windshield and the Firewall, in the area where the wipers are located. The other is a "Dummy Switch Cover" that covers an electrical connection somewhere underneath the passenger seat. It is to prevent dirt and moisture getting into the connector.

You will not find these listed under any recalls, as they are classified as manufacturer campaigns.

These TSBs were downloaded from the Hyundai service website before my 1-week subscription ran out last week:

TSB 15-01-014 - WATER INTRUSION INTO REAR COMBINATION LAMPS (RECALL 128)
Description: Description: Water can enter the rear combination lamp assemblies due to an insufficient seal in the rear combination lamp assembly. In limited instances, accumulated water can affect the range switch signals. If this occurs, while the vehicle is stopped and the shifter is moved from Park to Reverse or Drive, or the shifter is moved from Drive to Reverse or Park, one or more of the following symptoms may occur:
- The incorrect gear is displayed in the instrument panel
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination
- A delay in the engagement of the selected gear...

TSB 15-01-015-1 - DUMMY HOUSING INSTALLATION (SERVICE CAMPAIGN TX0)
Description: This bulletin describes the procedure to install a Dummy Housing to the passenger’s seat connector on certain 15MY Genesis (DH) vehicles to seal the connection housing. In the event of water intruding into the interior cabin, an unsealed connector could result in connector pin corrosion.

TSB 15-01-016-1 - COWL COVER LOWER PIECE REPLACEMENT (SERVICE CAMPAIGN TX1)
Description: This bulletin describes the procedure to replace the lower piece of the cowl top cover, which may inhibit proper sealing. Inadequate sealing may result in water intrusion into the interior cabin.

I am having the recall and TSB's done next week. The part for the cowl cover is BO but the rest is fine. He also mentioned changing the tires however I asked if I could use the Hankooks until winter, his reply was. "No problem, you have until (Month?) 2017 to get this done". I will be waiting a while for that one. :D

While we are talking TSB's, there is another one for the reflash of the head unit which is not mentioned here. Had to do with Sirius.

I guess I will have to ask about these when I take my car in for its first service. Or maybe i'll stay quiet and test the service manager to see if he mentions them before I say anything...

Do you know the build dates these TSBs refer to? Are all elgible? Mine already has the Michelin tires. BD: 03/27/2015

I bought my Genesis end of April. It already had the Michelin tires on it. I am in Canada if that makes a difference.

Hyundai Motor America is offering replacement tires to owners of 2015 Genesis Sedan (DH) vehicles equipped with Hankook brand tires. The original equipment tires may exhibit a slight vibration and/or road noise.

In other words I believe the recall is for vehicles that were equipped with Hankook only.

Does the dealership normally remedy these known issues for new cars as part of PDI? I just ordered a car and am supposed to be getting it in 2 weeks.

I'm not sure, but it probably wouldn't hurt to put a call into your salesperson and insure that they do (that is, if your car needs it to begin with; it's possible they made assembly-line changes before your car was built). Do it sooner rather than later because the parts are on nationwide back-order; ideally it could possibly be completed by the time you take delivery.

J. What was your build date? My G2 also came with Michelin tires, my build date was 02-12-2015.

How do I determine my build date?
I have contacted my dealer for my first service. After running my VIN they say there are no recalls, bulletins, or campaigns. It seems any issues were already dealt with.

If a dealership has a vehicle on the lot that has a recall it should be done before time of delivery. If you're not sure you can always take the VIN to the service adviser and he'll run it for you.

My build date is Feb 25, 2015.
Came with Michelins, and according to my dealer, there are no outstanding recalls, campaigns, or TSBs.
