  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently my OEM alternator finally died. Replaced it with aftermarket part from PartsGeek, only to find that when I drove it, my battery and seat belt lights would flash briefly after coming to a complete stop. Took it back to my mechanic who scanned it and found the alternator was putting out sufficient power but the battery wasn't holding a charge. Took the batter back to AutoZone (still under warranty), where they verified the battery did have a bad cell, and replaced it. BUt: the same lights are still coming on.

Did some research and found out that the 2009 Genny has two possible alternators: one that puts out 150a and a high-output that puts out 180a. Looking at the original part that came off the car, the part numbers comes back to the 150a alternator (denso 37300-3C200).

Not sure what to do here. Anyone ever encounter this on the 09-14 Genny?
