  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hhh i laughed so hard, thanks for that!

Suggested Retail Value is irrelevant. No one pays that. It is apparently OK to use that value for financing purposes, but that doesn't mean anyone will pay that much for the car.

More relevant is trade-in value (the most relevant) and Private Party Value (which is what you might get if you sold it yourself). And while everyone thinks their car is in excellent condition, few are.

Trade-in value of 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Sedan 4D

Excellent $34,450
Good $32,750
Fair $29,750

But I don't even think these values are all that accurate, probably because the sample size is so low.

HA! Anyone who thinks they can sell our cars for the SRV should be slapped. I would only hope that most of us knew this.

  • Looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. My Gen is PERFECT
  • Never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. Yerp!
  • Clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. Even with the Magnaflow
  • Engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. You could eat off the V8 Emblem
  • Complete and verifiable service records. Every single receipt is available in my pretty little folder.
Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category. I guess I am in the 5%...as should be almost all of us Gen owners unless you have wrecked your car.:p

Maybe the MagnaFlow will not hurt a private sale to the right buyer, but I think you would get some flack for that on a trade-in.

That's why the owners keep the original exhaust.

True...but Nearwater beat me to it.

I always "try" to have a back up plan...hence the reason I decided to go with the Cat-Back exhaust. It simply bolts in place of the OEM exhaust and is a 30 min. job. However, for those who did the cut and weld Magnaflow job...your stuck with finding a buyer...but it shouldnt be too hard! From the reactions I get people would LOVE to have my car and the exhaust too!

I figured in the event I would trade-up to the 11 or 12 Genesis, I could remove the Magnaflow and sell it on ebay and probably get around $400 or so. ;)
