My 2009 4.6L Hyundai Genesis has Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) air bag light that was on occasionally but then finally stayed on all the time while driving. I took it to our Hyundai dealer for $150 and got this response: "B1779 CHECK AIR BAG SYSTEM CODES B1490 AND B1102 SET IN HISTORY. INSPECTED HARNESS AND CONNECTIONS. ALL INSPECTS GOOD. NEED TO REPLACE PASS SEAT SENSOR AND CLEAR CODES AND RETEST. THERE IS A POSSIBLITY THAT THE SEAT MODULE WILL BE BAD AS WELL, BUT WE WOULD BE ABLE TO TEST UNTIL WE HAVE REP;LACED THE SEAT SENSOR. CUSTOMER QUOTED 1449 PLUS TAX FOR DIAGNOSTICS, PARTS AND LABOR FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALL."
The dealer did not have the equipment to test seat sensor. So I can take it to a Hyundai shop that has the passenger seat sensor test equipment for $150+ or... just buy the part swap it out and reset. Unfortunately, I cannot find this module anywhere for sale. Any tips or suggestions?
