  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2009 Nissan Maxima- Verdict Motor Trend

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Wow, that was laced with lots of criticism, some of it not justified IMO. Marketing speak aside, most Maxima buyers know exactly what they're getting (e.g. a quick, relatively efficient and feature-laden near luxury sedan w/ a healthy dose of sportiness thrown in for good measure). I seriously doubt most buyers expect it to literally be a '4DSC'.

With that said, the Genesis is a better car. The build quality between the two is the biggest difference in my mind. The doors on the Maxima feel at least 30lbs. lighter, and most body panels are made from some of the thinnest sheet metal I've encountered (reminds me of my old Civic). It is a very nice car though, just not $35-40k nice IMO.

Side note: I love how a 6 second 0-60 time is no longer considered fast. Most sports cars from the 80s can't even do that. :D

They beat that car down. No matter how sporty you think you car is or wants to be. Throwing a massive engine in a FWD car doesn't work, when you start to push the car bad things happen.
In the Bible, book of Genesis, it says on the 7th day God finished his work and rested. A little know fact is, on the eight day he woke up and remembered that he forgot to build Adam a ride so he could impress Eve. On the eighth day he made the car and it was rear wheel drive, with a manual gearbox and a really heavy clutch.
