Has anyone experienced problems with the EPB? New part is expensive and labor intensive.
 
Mine freaked out over the winter and stopped working. Light on the dash. Unplugged the battery for about 15 minutes and it came back to life, works fine but now the light itself always stays lit. Still trying to find a used module for a decent price on ebay as new I believe they are around $1200 or so
 
Why are these parts so expensive?

My mechanic pinned it so that the EPB light is always on and parking brake is inoperative. Tried to find a reliable used part for about a year. Do you have a link where I can buy the part?
