  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

So I been here for a while and found many helpful posts. (just replaced my alternator @ 103k). While I found some suggestions about jacking the car up i am still got some questions. (I searched, found the pdf about the points etc...). before I used the scissor jack on the pinch welds and put the jack stand there usually one just for oil change.

Now that i got a floor jack, low profile 2.5T I want to lift the whole front or back since i need more access for some services i need to do like transmission oil change (need to put it on 4 jack stands).

1. there is a cross membrane in front of the oil pan under the plastic, can i jack the car up from there? (seems the gen coupe people seems to use this part)
2. in the back the steel after the differential seems narrow, do you guys use some wood or just run the saddle to that point and lift?
3. In the pdf from this form about jacking the car up, it says B, C points not sure how to jack from B or over the headbolt.
4. pictures would be great!

Thank you

I have jacked mine up from the both areas you mentioned, it will be fine.

Hey. I know about the pinch welds. I was interested more into center lifting points since my jack does not allow to place the jack stand and the jack at the same time. But thank you for replying.
