  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How do I get the hood to stay up so I can change my wiper blades?

You don't. Keep the hood down and closed. <-- important.

Turn key-on (double press start button foot off brake), count to 5, turn key-off (single press). Within 10 or so seconds of Key-off, hold the wiper stalk up in the "mist" position for a few seconds. The wiper blades will move to the service position.

Change your blades.

Next time you put the car back in key-on (or start it), move the wiper control lever to any position and the wipers will move back to their normal positions.

Great info, Gunkk. I never knew this. I’ve changed my in situ since new with no issues.

Wow, thanks so much for this info!! I've been meaning to ask if there was a way to do this, and just never had gotten it done. Awesome, I'm going to try it next time. Two thumbs up!

I typed that out from memory (yes I'm one of the local idiot savants... mostly idiot), but It's also in the owner's manual with pics for those who get confused by the J hook the first time ;-)
