  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Renderings and discussion

That looks SWEET! Now, if we can only get them to drop in the v8! HA!

You know, kinda like an M3 or AMG. :)

Don't get your hopes up. Those renderings were done by some guy with some p-shop skills that wanted his chops posted on Hyundai-blog:
First of all, I would like to thank Adel for these two hot looking Hyundai Sonata renderings. He has sent them to me in a hope to publish them on the blog.
I HOPE it looks like that, but I doubt it.

That looks like a baby Genesis. I don't think Hyundai will go that far for a bread and butter mid size sedan. I sure love the look though.

That is an obvious photoshop from the press release photos of the Genesis.

This rendering has a vague resemblance to the actual spy shots of the 2010 Sonatas running around the states. First thing I noticed was the difference in the side mirrors. They look totally different from the spy shots.

Wow I had to do a double take! Looks alot like my Geny in the garage except for the grill and wheels. If Hyundai made that the new Sonata they might just be undercutting themselves on sales HA HA HA !!

O the wonders of South Korean expressway rest stops...

Seriously, those places are good. I had to get it out of the system. Less than two months ago, I was busy doing 2,600 kilometers of hard driving in South Korea on a rental 2006 Sonata. Rest stops are at most 40 km apart, and they have great food that is both cheap and nutritious. Nice, clean toilets and gas stations/occasional mechanics too. Sure, they are "thruway" type tollways and you must pay toll, but even then, tolls are quite reasonable. US interstates (at least ones here in California) are pathetic by comparison.

Back to topic - I'd love the next generation Sonata, partly to replace my aging Accord. The Accord is doing very well, however, so I won't be in a hurry. If I do choose the Sonata, it will be a hybrid - no questions about it. I may decide that a smaller conventional vehicle, like the Elantra Touring, may do it, however. Or a smaller Japanese hybrid like the Prius.
