  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Was having my morning coffee with a buddy this morning when he mentioned that he was thinking of buying a Honda Civic or a Honda "anything" that was cheap and would give great gas milage. I mentioned that Hyundai has a 5/60 Bumper to Bumper Warranty in addition to the 10/100 Power Train Warranty.
He did not know that, so off to the closest Hyundai dealer just to look at what they had and the prices. (Note that my buddy wants something cheap, not the car listed below).

While there, I saw that they had the new 2011 Elantra in stock. I was impressed. Matter of fact, I like it better than the 2011 Sonata, at a much lesser price. Milage listed at 28 city, 40 highway. 1.8 liter engine with DOHC and D-VVT. Listed for around $18,000.

I'm not in the market right now, but I WAS IMPRESSED.

Also visited the KIA dealer which was closeby. Looked at KIA's version (forgot what it is called) of the Hyundai Sonata. Looked great. Was surprised to see that while the Hyundai Sonata is "built" in Alabama, the KIA is built in Korea. Same 2.4 engine.

My buddy will probably buy a Hyundai/KIA soon, just for the warranty.

I saw one yesterday as well Bob- 29-40 mileage is superb and the proportions are better than those of the Sonata. Rear seat heaters too as well as NAV weather-which Genesis has yet to incorporate.

+1 on all accounts.....the car does look very appealing and with some features not yet offerred in the Genesis.
I am surprised/dismayed they would introduce these on a car that is the same model year as the Genny and for $20K less!

Same model year as the Genesis? Genesis was introduced in 08 as an 09 so we are into year 3 in the Genny.
