  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Who the hell did they interview? VW Bug owners? Irrelevant video when not one knows the price structure of upper class luxury vehicles.$30-:confused:35-40K??!!

What STREETS said, man! Who are those people? They obviously don't know much about the new car market. Sheeeesh.

I would venture a guess that most people in this and other forums are auto enthusiasts, or at least have some idea about cars. As such, we take a lot of things for granted. This video illustrates the absolute ignorance of the general public, who look at cars the same way they look at any household appliance.

HA! I loved it!

Most of these people have probably never bought a new car in their life...yet they own "new to me" cars. They needed to get the Lexus, Beemer and Merc owners to sit in it and throw out some numbers. I'm sure they would be a lot higher!

Thanks TJPARK01!

TJ I think you hit on something that has been brought up before. A couple of weeks back there was a thread regarding if Hyundai would ever "get into" the luxury circle of BMW, Benz, Lexus, etc.

As you stated, the average person has no clue about car prices and they are so used to be told that those luxury companies are worth the price. The average buyer will not believe that a company known for economic savings and good fuel efficiency can make a car worth $60k. And, even if the car is worth $60k, or more then $60k, people will look at the name and say, "Why would I spend that on a Hyundai when I can get (fill in the luxury brand) for the same amount?" It is the same reason that women's purses can be made of nearly identical materials and styles and one sells for $50 and one sells for $500... Branding. Americas buy status not quality.

We, on this forum, don't think that way but as you stated we are enthusiasts and have knowledge. Just my opinion.

Are these really "real, car-conscious Californians"? Please... they all probably ride mass transit every day.

I like the one that said, "I think it's gonna be in the high 20's, 30's?"

Boy is that doughhead in for a shock when he actually buys a new car. XD

California is more like a country than a state. There's more people here than in the whole of Canada. In all fairness I use electricity everyday and I have no idea how i works, nor do I really care.

Touche'... but at least you can disarm me with your hands... or your looks.

That's why you're the most interesting man in the world!

XD
