  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The right rear door speaker on my 2011 Genni starts to go out
(it starts to crackle at certain frequencies/songs when listening to music at a volume level from around 18 and up).

I found out that the speakers are 6 1/2 inch in diameter.

Are there any recommendations for replacement speakers?
Is it a straight forward swap?
Or is there some soldering involved?

Check Crutchfield’s website for what will fit. I wouldn’t necessarily purchase them from Crutchfield as they can be pretty pricey but they provide good research and will for sure tell you what will fit.

SO YOU HAVE THE LEXICON 14 OR 17 SPEAKER SYSTEM ?

Easiest fix is find a junk yard donor. Cheap and that way you learn how to r&r on the wreck before you attempt the job on your own vehicle.
