  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2 months after having my solenoids replaced my tranny has been running smoothly through all gears.i changed my solenoids because my tranny was stuck on 5th gear and engine stuck on limp mode, dealer stated I had to replace my transmission so I decided to open it up myself and changed the solenoids. No reprogramming was necessary for the job, I now have smooth shifting and I'm using valvoline atf max life.

I am intrigued.
Did you find anything lodged in the solenoid valve?
Bad O-rings?
Were the coils just weak?
Any signs of corrosion(moisture contamination)?
Any other signs of failures such as clutch fibers or large particles in the filter?
What condition was the plastic for the solenoid connectors in?
Did you do this in vehicle or remove the Transmission and do it on the bench?
Lastly was this the Hyundai or ZF transmission?
Sorry lots of questions but this could prove very useful for others in the future.
