Just putting this thread as a quick guide to consolidate information and details that I've used and seen on this forum as our cars might be needing Brake and Rotor replacement 1st or 2nd or 3rd time for many.

In Summer of 2018 I initially replaced my 2012 3.8 Genesis full Brakes/Rotors set using PowerStop K5845 set which are drilled and slotted. Sadly, I did not get good wear out of them as I barely put 25,000 miles on them, and the driver side was completely gone as it was metal on metal. I will have to keep an eye on the car in case the caliper is sticking or something along those lines as this seems too excessive of a time frame especially since it did not get a lot of driving mileage or rough driving for that matter.

This week 09/2021 I went ahead and elected to buy all OEM Brakes and Rotors and here are the quick updates as there are several parts and alternate numbers etc. and with the parts shortage everywhere below are the best pricing I found unless others want to provide better links and keep in mind that local dealers might be cheaper, but you can get from other online places without taxes etc.

Front Rotors:
Original Numbers: 51712B1100
Alternate and New#: 51712-B1600, 517123M700, 51712B1500
Online sites like Conicelli which was local to me was able to get this in 2 days despite saying 2-4 weeks for $112.53:

Front Pads:
Original Number: 581013MA01
Alternate and New: 581013NA02, 58101-3NA01, 581013NA01, GX1551 GX1396 CX1284 161396 CX1551, ZD1396 171396 QC1396 Z231396, CX1396 ACT1396 Z261396 P30052N, 581013MA10, 581013MA11, 58101-3MA10, 58101-3MA11, 58101-3NA02

I was able to find 58101-3NA02 on eBay for cheap and got a discount to get the part shipped for $90.xx and it’s an exact fit whereas some websites indicated that it doesn't but that's not true.
58101-3NA02 - Brake Pads - 2011-2014 Hyundai | hyundaiparts (says it won’t fit but does and the pic is wrong or description is wrong).

Rear Rotors:
Original Number: 58411-3M300
Note that some Genesis parts fit Kias and can be cheaper from them for example the rotors are $84 from link1 compared to link2 at $97.13:
Getting it out of state shows no taxes for me and shipping was about the same so that's a big savings in taxes alone.

Rear Pads:
Original Number: 583023-3MA30
Alternate Part Numbers: 58302B1A30, 583023MA30, 58302-3MA30, 161551, 171551, Z231551, Z261551, 58302-B1A30
I was able to find 58302-B1A30 on eBay for cheap and got a discount to get the part shipped for $58.xx and it’s an exact fit whereas some websites indicated that it doesn't but that's not true.
Same as above note, that some Genesis parts fit Kias and can be cheaper from them for example the pads are $64.90 from link1 compared to link2 at $66.21:

Tools Used: Jack, Jack Stand, Lug-nut bar and the pry-bar from the truck of the car, 10 & 17MM sockets for Socket Wrench, Thin and small flat head, thick and long flat head to separate the brakes on the caliper, brake grease, rags and brake cleaner. Long and large Phillips head to get rotor screws out and finally small needle nose pliers to get the cotter pins off.

Changing fronts shouldn't take you that long unless you get stuck on getting the rotor screw off then it goes downhill from there lol. I found that if you soak the screws in penetrating spray and let it sit for a few minutes that you would have better luck getting them off.

I have used these 2 videos for front:

This for the Rear:

super helpful.

for my 2012 the dealer quoted $617 for front rotors and pads. Pretty steep. Said it would be $330 less if they didn't need rotors. They are actually working find and are origninal (bought car new - 84K miles). So I'm def pleased with OEM. May do them myself and save some time. Its darn hot out there tho!

I just had to redo my rear brakes as they grinded away. I had used drilled and slotted front and rears and as I started the thread I indicated as such and I barely got 25K out of the brakes and rotors.

I switched to OEM for the front and just put OEM on the rear.

Few issues: For some reason the 2 rotors I purchased (same one but bought 2 in 2 separate orders to save on shipping) did not fit left and right the same so wondering if missed this that they are side specific (Kia 58411 3M300). Not sure if its because I am using a Kia part or not but basially the 2 rotor screw holes did not lineup (unless I am tired and missed this).

2nd Issue was that while putting the rear passenger rotor i bumped into the parking brake shoe and the damm thing fell off. It was literally held on with spot glue (WTF). I put some loctite but have no faith that what I did will hold/work. I had to close up the car as I had parked half in the garage :(.

3rd issue was that I had a hard time pushing in the caliper piston on one side and despite better judgement I ended up using rust breaker spray (Freeze or something like that), not a lot but that sorta worked so not sure what you guys do...

My 2014 Genesis 3.8 has over 185K+ and I am still on the factory original brakes. Every time I have new tires installed or rotated they say "Your brake pads are getting close".

LOL, how man? How is this possible 185K? Sounds unheard of and from my brakes going metal on metal on the OEMs I don't see how....good for you in any case but I am on my OEM/AfterMarket and back on the OEMs so lets see how long they last for me :(.
