I have a 2012 3.8L sedan with 223,000 miles, I bought it new (I drive alot). Recently, I had the spark plugs changed for the second time since I've had it. Within a week afterwards, it began occasionally cutting out like the engine was misfiring on the interstate. It may do it 2-3x a day then not do it again for 3 or 4 days. It does not seem to be an issue when accelerating. It has also started to occasionally act as if it is going to stall at idle while in gear at a stoplight. Its the same deal with the idle issue, it may do it a few times on a particular day then not again for a few days.
No check engine light and no particular pattern to it. It does it when it's cooler outside as well as hot.
I contacted the dealer last week because it's been about a month since this started. I've not had trouble with the dealer and have always went back there for repairs/service. But the service advisor was not helpful and wanted to ensure I understood there was going to be a $110 diagnostic fee, which I understand, but both advisors came off as very unhelpful (I had to call back because they hung up accidentally the first time). I had asked about maybe the fuel filter needing changed and I was informed that it might possibly be but they have rarely seen issues like that.
I'm hesitant to take it in at this point but not sure what else to do-does anyone have any idea what could be going on?
