In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hi All,

I have a 2012 3.8 with the Technology package. For about 2 weeks now I have had an intermittent issue with the front parking sensor. Sometimes when I start the car, the picture of the car with the parking sensor comes up in the information screen. It makes a beeping sound and it shows that the middle front sensor is sensing something at the "green" distance.

After this the sound stops, but the display still shows the front middle sensor in green. When I drive I can switch to the cruise display or the fuel economy dislplay, but whenever I slow down to 10 kph (6 mph) I get the beeping sound and is displays green for the front middle sensor.

I have had a similar situation before where there is snow buildup which tricks the sensors, but there is nothing like that now. I have always been able to disable the sensors when that happens.

Now the worst part is that when I try to turn off the parking sensors with the button to the left of the steering wheel, it continues to alarm. So I am always getting a beeping sound everything time I drop below 6 mph which is very annoying.

Has anyone encountered this or know what the issue might be. I assume it could be a faulty front sensor, but is there a way to disable this until I get it to the dealership? There is not much in the manual about this.

Thanks

Stuart

I have encountered the faulty front parking sensor. Mine only happens in winter when it is dark. I can always disable it so that issue is non-existent to me. But thought I would share my $.02

Thanks... There does seem to be some correlation to when it is cold although on some days it will do it and then the next time I start the car does not do it..

Did you get 3 double beeps? I did and found out that the sensor needed to be replaced. Fortunately, my car is still under warranty.

For what its worth, I had the same issue on the back passenger sensor on the 2009 (4.6)...

I used electrical compressed air can with the thin tube and carefully went around the sensor about 3" away and never had this issue since...

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago on my 2012 Genesis with Tech package. I took it in to the dealer and the replaced one of the front sensors under warranty.

I had same problem. triple beeps when starting car, then noticed rear passenger side indicator on but nothing there. I cleaned the bumper in that area and I had a left over partially used can of electrical "air duster" did the blow off trick. that fixed it. Don't know which action solved the problem but it seems to be gone now.
