*** I just realized that I may have been able to just shoot the fluid from the Ravenol bottle through the overflow/full hole in the trans pan and not use the trans fill hole at all. ***
I was replying to a post on another forum a minute ago and that's when I thought of this. Perhaps everyone does this already.... can anyone confirm?
Background: Just serviced the trans on my 2015 Genesis 5.0L (68k miles). Replaced the trans pan (built in filter) and fluid. (note - My 2012 3.8L has the same trans pan.) I filled with Ravenol and the bottles squirt all over the place
until you realize that the neck expands and a small hose can be extended from the neck. I then proceeded to fill using another piece of tubing to get into the trans fill hole on the side of the trans housing.
I thought that it was def a pain and will try this new approach when I do a 2nd drain and fill in the next week. I will direct the small hose from the Ravenol bottle in sideways above the overflow tube to make sure that the oil is not just squirting up and then dripping back down.
