  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

According to the HMA site, the 2012 3.8L brakes are different than the 4.6L, but I thought these were all the same for the 2012 year.

Does anybody know what the deal is?

You might be able to find out by looking the parts/prices on http://www.newhyundaiparts.com

That's how I figured out that the rear stabilizer bar for all 2012's+ are the same, regardless of engine or trim level (Base, Premium, Tech, R-Spec).

Thanks. I usually use http://www.hyundaioemparts.com, as their shipping is generally a tad cheaper. (Parts costs are about the same.)

It appears they are different, though they don't show part numbers.

Yup,

All 3 engines choices in 2012 also have different brake sizes. The 3.8L and 4.6L were both larger than previous years, and the R Specs were even larger than those.

Yes, much bigger than previous models. The 17" winter wheels/tires that I had used on my 2009 Genesis wouldn't fit until I got them re-balanced with thinner wheel weights!! The clearance is less than 1/8".
