  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been driving my new car for a couple days - 500 miles already! Yesterday I filled it up and reset the trip and avg MPG display so that I could take a quick check of what the mileage is. I drove to work today, my usual commute (about 90% freeway) and filled up again back home.

The car said that my 'avg MPG' was 25.8, I Pumped in the gas and calculated the miles driven - my calculated 'MPG' was 27.7! I don't expect this mileage and will check it again after a full tank of driving. If I get around 25MPG for a week of commuting I will be very happy!

800 miles driven on my new 2012 4.6 and I'm seeing 24mph with plenty of redlight stop/start action. I would imagine after a few thousand mile break in period it will get better. I will take the Genny for my next trip to N.C from MD and hope to see 30ish mph for the run down I95.

I have nothing but red light runs with a 1.5 mile commute...I don't break 30 at any point and stop at least 5 times each morning/evening.

Unfortunately, I average in the 14 - 16 range. Not nearly as good for those very short trips with lots of lights in between (that and I'm starting with the hungrier 5.0).

Still, it's far better than my prior vehicle so I'm pleased.

I can't emphasize enough how efficient Tau engine is. Smooth power delivery and excellent mpg yield. I typically average 19-20 mpg with about 1/2 surface and 1/2 highway driving. But I've seen the car averaging 30+mpg cruising highway at about 65-70 mph. Tau engine is just plain awesome. Now I know why it is one of the 10 Ward's best engines.

Ran my first full tank.. trip computer said avg 24mpg actual calculated was 22.2 Not bad for approximately 70% highway 30% city.

I am getting around 15 in town and 18 highway on my much heavier Equus.
