  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking to buy a used ECU for my grandmother's (USA) 2012 4.6L sedan and have the VIN reassigned.

There are a number of ECUs on ebay with part number 39105 but I see new ones are 39110... can anyone advise on whether the used part will work (and also if I am looking at the right part in the first place)? I assume 39110 is just a later iteration of the same part, but would like to be sure.

In case this is someday useful to someone...after more poking around online, I think 39105 is the ECM for the 3.8 and 39110 is the part for the 4.6.

I still cannot figure out if the 3.8 ECU will work in the 4.6, although logic suggests probably not
