  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do all 2012 5.0 Genesis cars experience the delayed acceleration and continued acceleration for two seconds after you remove your foot from the pedal? Does a software update exist that makes the throttle operation more like other vehicles? It is a little hair raising to accelerate out from a stopped lane of traffic and have your car want to race up the bumper of a car in the next lane, even though you removed your foot from the gas pedal. #genesisrookie

I don't recall this as being anything I experience with my 4.6, no idea with the 5.0 though.

Mine does not do that. If I floor the gas from a low speed the car will take part of a second to downshift but once downshifted it becomes a rocket. Lifting off results in an immediate slowdown.

If I give it the gas, but not floored, from a moderate speed it will downshift faster with immediate acceleration. It does not continue to make speed after lifting however.

Mine's the 3.8, and I do recall it being slow to dump the throttle when I lifted my foot. I think there was a flash update the dealer did for me somewhere along the line that helped a lot with that. It's been long enough that I don't remember any of the details, though. It seems to me that the update wasn't exactly described as what I was looking for, and the dealer was sceptical, but after I showed him some posts on here, he applied it, and I think it helped. This would have been a couple years ago on this board.
