If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know if you can have the 2012 Equus sport mode upgraded to the 2014 software/firmware? Big difference in shift points and ride between my 2012 and the 2014.

Any thoughts on this.

Thanks

Yep. Changes shift patterns a bunch. When I was driving 2014 on extended highway time, it stayed in 7th at cruise up to 75 or so.. It is very responsive. And I like the dash colors on sport. IMO.

i really enjoy sport mode, i typically switch into it daily, very responsive. I don't know about 2012, but on 2014 quite nice.

Shift pattern is noticeably different in Sport Mode on my 2012 but any difference in steering and suspension is so subtle I don't sense it. Wonder if they improved that aspect for 2014.

I bought the 2014 Equus Signature, black with tan interior, just a great car. I shopped the Mercedes S550, BMW 750 and the Lexus 460 before making my decision on this purchase. Realistically there is no comparison, this car rocks. The interior of the Equus is awesome, the seats are exceptionally comfortable, the controls are nicely positioned and the stereo is tremendous, much better than my 2009 Genesis, which I really thought was a great car. The interior amenities are as they should be in a car of this class, the quality of the switches and feel are outstanding. The fit and finish is comparable to the cars costing $40K more. The performance is similar to both the S550 and the BMW 750 in acceleration, the ride is more closely related to the S550/Lexus LS. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a car such as the above mentioned brands, the Equus is well worth the drive. The only thing I would like to have seen is a digital clock in the dash display or the Nav display, the one in the center stack is great looking, but you have to look away from the road slightly to see it.

FYI, with 950 miles on the car the trip computer indicates 20.2 mpg in mixed driving. I am hopeful this will improve over time.

I would like to see an upgrade to the software, as well. Not that much difference on my 2012 Ultimate when sport mode selected.

In fact, not very positive shifts. Dealer says it is normal.

The 2014 is night and day different from the normal mode to sport. It does tighten the suspension and the shift points are much more aggressive, that being said a 2-3 mpg loss when in sport mode.

I love the car.
