Hey there, people I am new to this forum so I will just get straight to the point. I have a 2012 Hyundai Genesis R-spec and a few months ago the SCC Mod went out. I took it to the dealership and they told me that it would be $5800+tax to get a new one installed. Then about 1 week ago the wife and I were driving and had a little mishap with a vase full of flowers and a sudden stop, ending with water on the dash shorting out the head unit. So as if things couldn't get worse they want $3700+tax to install a new one. I do not have $10,000 to throw down on the car at this point in life, so here is the question.
I have located a R-spec in a junkyard that has these parts for much cheaper. Can I take these parts and have them swap them out without any programming issues? The people at the Dealership said they could do it but did not know if there wold be any issues with the parts being a one time program ability. They said that the units could be locked to the VIN on the original car. Is this true or can I go ahead and get the used parts and make the swap for literally 25% of the cost?
Thanks in advance to any help or advise.
Cheers
