  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been having an issue with my CC. I live in WI and from searches thought it might be tied to weather conditions but now I'm starring to think not. I can have it on and set and after a while it will cut out with an SCC error and an orange warning light on the dash. After that I can not engage it again until I restart my engine. Sometimes it will not engage at all, even after a start/restart. There is nothing extraordinary that seems to cause it to cut out - literally driving along a highway and it cuts.

PS I'm new to the forum, if this should have been posted elsewhere I apologize.

Is this for the radar based cruise control? If so, take a look at the front/rear sensors to make sure they are all clean.

Does it just stop working at times, or does it slow the car down????

If you have a 2012 model, wouldn't that be covered under the 60,000 mile warranty?

But it should never engage if the sensors were dirty/damaged - right?
It is the radar based system.

The car slows down. It basically just turns off CC so without my foot on the pedal it slows. It's not a dramatic halt or anything.

Sorry, the 60K thing. I bought it used so I don't think that's available to me but I did buy a warranty from the dealership (stupid, I know, but maybe not now) that should cover it - problem is that it is 2 hours away so if this is a simple fix I would rather do it myself.

Sounds like it's more than a person can fix themselves.

Might be a minor electrical short, but you never know.

The dealership warranty isn't so stupid if you have a electrical issue that takes hours and hours to figure out and or if you require expensive parts...whatever is wrong with it, make them fix and pay for it.

Double check your dealership extended warranty about the "RADAR" cruise control. I have a 2012 R-Spec and my cruise control went about 30K miles. I got it fixed under warranty. The radar module cost about $4K and to replace the module the bumper comes off.

I have a CPO warranty WRAP on my car and it is for 100,000 miles and it covers a lot of the electronics. But as with any extended warranty there are exclusions. See below.

I don't know if they will make a goodwill attempt at replacing the unit. I think for the 2015 models, they now have both Radar and regular cruise.

I would also like to add, that the problems with my cruise malfunctioning are similar to what you are having.

Good luck mate!
