  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I haven't even made my first payment on my brand new car, and I've been rear-ended twice! First time was March 23rd, hit real hard - whiplash headrest deployed and car held up good, despite needing a new bumper and a little underside body work ($3800 total). I get the car back two weeks later, just yesterday, April 16th, the second day I was driving it after it was fixed, someone rear-ended me AGAIN!

Is there some sort of defect that makes this car hard to see or something? I used to have a silver Volvo that blended into the street, and I was never hit, but my bright shiny pearl white Genesis with super bright tail lights is taking a beating (not to mention the beating on my head, neck and back).

I'm just so disappointed that this has happened twice! Can't I just enjoy my expensive purchase?!?!:(

Are you positive your brake lights are working?....Just a thought.

If there is anything I hate it's tailgaters......When they tailgate me, I slow down until they pass me. What city do you live in with these tailgaters?

I feel for you. My 2009 Genesis took hard hit in rear back in February. It did not look too bad, especially compared to the Civic that hit me, however, repairs have ran up to $9500 as they found additional things while working on it. Most of the damage was hidden. The troubling thing is that it comes off lease in 2 months at which time I had planned to purchase it as I've really been happy and buy-out/residual is good. Though the repairs look really good, I'm concerned with how all of the body work will hold up considering cutting, welding, painting,etc.- though it is guaranteed for life through the body shop and insurance company (since done at a direct repair shop). Most people say to turn it in and move on. I was not planning to be car shopping and your situation is perfect example of why I'm not sure what to do..could have same accident again right out of the gate and then what? I've had the Genesis appraised a couple of time recently and does not appear to be taking too much of a hit in terms of diminished value as some had suggested...perhaps since it is 3 years old and 38,000 miles. The other driver ran into me at about 25 mph while I was stopped so feel good that it protected me..the Civic appeared to be a total - airbags were deployed and front was demolished. Driver was 19 years old and said he was looking down at his radio..some say code for texting! Need to figure it out quickly as lease end inspection is coming up. The interior looks like new as does the exterior so keeping fingers crossed that no surprises. Good luck to you!
