  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The under-body splash shield on my MY2013 3.8l sedan has given up the ghost, with only four of the original eleven mounting points holding on. When I did a search to replace it, all the MY2013 splash shields I saw looked nothing like what I took off the car. What struck me, though, was that the replacement splash shield for the 2014 model looked exactly like what was installed on my car.

I'm the original owner and I've never had this thing replaced, so what I took off was what it was shipped with. It was and end-of-model-year car, so I guess it's possible they rolled the new splash guard into production for the last of the 2013's to come off the line.

Has anyone else seen this on their 2013 when replacing the splash shield? It's the one that runs from the front bumper to just under the oil pan. Thanks!

I will try to get a picture of my splash shield tomorrow when I get to the hangar. Mine after 8 years of new ownership fell down while driving home at 65+++mph and I had to exit the highway to safety-wire it back up after an oil change. The local shop where I take my vehicles admitted they used drill motors to "zip the covers off and on" during oil/filter changes. Ten of the twelve bolts were sheared so now I have to drill them out, re-tap the threads and install new bolts purchased a few months ago. Yes, Life has gotten in the way with the arrival of grand-baby #7 and traveling with the jet when needed for maintenance.

You could also try searching for 2009-2012 models, if you haven’t yet. Just to see if they’re interchangeable or not.

Part number 29110-3N500 is from my vehicle, a 2014 with a Date Of MFG 10/21/2013. Identifier is 29110P, right side of the picture. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the posts, jep. The shield on the right looks just like the one I took off my 2013MY (photo below), which has a build date of Sept 11, 2013, just a month prior to your 2014. The 2013 shield is a two-part affair, whereas mine is a single part. I guess I'll cruise by the dealership and see if they have an explanation.
