  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is more of a Sonata competitor, in all honesty... but is anyone else sort of blown away by the new Fusion?

Color me impressed (and I wasn't so with the Taurus AT ALL)... and I'm very surprised at the omission of a V6, to be honest, though I see what Ford is doing here - there is clearly a move to their EcoBoost and Hybrid/Electric platforms. Nice.

The way I see it, the Americans and Koreans are improving looks and quality, while the Japanese and Germans are lowering them.........

Can't wait to see the new Genesis though. ;)

Looks like a Volvo.

Totally agree with you. Ford is one to watch, especially if they can fix the Sync software issues that are sending customers to dealers for unending updates for frozen touchscreen and more. Love the styling of the new Fusion.

Me! Great looking car!

Quality and repair records have been great in the Fusion, but styling not so much. I've already warmed up to the styling on the '13.

I may not be so warm on the price, which (I'm guessing) is probably closer to the V6 Genesis than the Sonata. If it's over 30K, I probably couldn't justify it over the Genny.

We bought my wife a 2010 Fusion in August 2009. About 2 weeks later it was back at the dealer because the CD player was skipping and spitting the CD out. They scheduled the visit so they only had it an afternoon (ordered the parts and waited till they came in to call us to bring the car in for service).

A couple of months later (it seems, but it could have been longer) we took it back because the head liner material was coming loose and hanging down up at the windshield. They put a new headliner in it (same thing, part ordered and arrived, then they called us to bring it in but they still had it overnight this time). Later we got a letter about the transmission recall and had to take it in so they could reprogram the computer to change the shift programming so we took it in again.

It hasn't been back for a year or so. My wife really likes it. It has no where near the room in the front seat my coupe has, not even close.

And its a 4 door....ugh. She still likes it. She gets around 24 to 25 mpg driving around town. Just a little more than I do in the coupe and I don't think she runs it very hard.

I had my share of Ford nightmare stories... but this was 10 years ago. Just like one shouldn't compare today's Hyundai with 2002 Hyundai (or 1992 Hyundai for that matter), I actually would be willing to consider one of the new Fords.

They are putting out very attractive products - even if they are a bit overpriced for my taste.
