- Genesis Model Type
- 1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
Car Details:
- Model: 2013 Genesis Sedan 3.8 V6 Premium Package
- Mileage: 208,800 KM (for our American friends, that's approximately 129,806 miles)
- I had the car inspected at a non-Hyundai dealership before purchase.
- The car failed the safety check due to the seatbelt light being constantly on.
- Even though the light was on during the test drive, I decided to purchase the car.
- From my research on YouTube and various forums:
- The leading cause seems to be a wire connection issue.
- Diagnosis by Dealership:
- How does a dealership, charging $130/hr, diagnose and rectify these faults?
- Is their method more reliable than other mechanics?
- Safety & Repairs:
- Can independent mechanics fix this issue and guarantee the safety of the airbags?
- I'm inclined to take the car to the dealership first, especially when safety concerns are involved. However, it would need a significant red flag to warrant that decision.
- Experiences of Others:
- Has anyone faced and resolved this issue with their car?
- How do you determine if the problem is genuinely fixed? Is the light turning off a reliable indicator?
