  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I think I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 2013 R-spec (white w black interior) and I am curious if anybody is paying under $40K these days? With the 2014 models not too far away it seems like Hyundai may be willing to discount 2013 models a bit more than they have in previous months. I'd like to get to $38K after rebates and incentives - do you think that's possible? It is the last week of the month (hungry sales reps and managers?) and there are several dealerships near me with the car I want in stock.

Auto Trader has dealers listing new R spec units in the 38K range

I am in Atlanta - there are a dozen dealerships around town, which should work to my favor.

East coast is definitely better for pricing. I would not hesitate going out of state if you find a much better deal. Shipping is not too expensive.

I just bought mine a little over a week ago in Tampa for $37400 inc all rebates.

I can send you the details when i get back in town.

been averaging 23.1 mpg to 23.3 mpg for the two tanks of gas thru her so far.

Sounds like a great deal, thanks for sharing and congrats on your purchase!

The incentives appear to be the same as April so they might have a better deal next month. I paid around $39 at the end of April.

If you need a good starting point you can use this car:

Don't buy that one though, as the rear passenger door was stuck closed when I was shopping a month ago, and the dealer acted like it was normal.

Hey, another Atlanta area person, welcome. :welcome: There are a handful us here....

I found the Atlanta market to be fairly pricey for these cars. Jim Ellis seems to dictate that best I can tell. I ended up going out of state for mine, although I bought a barely used (3k) 2012 v-6 tech pkg, I saved about $6-7k versus JE CPO. Found mine in St Louis.

Since you are buying new, I'd shop all over. I found good prices in the Chicago, Cleveland and Baltimore areas. Nothing that a $250 airfare or $500 shipping fee can't solve.

Agree wholeheartedly. I have a line on a very good shipper.

Thanks for the info, gents. I'm definitely willing to search regionally instead of just locally. Jim Ellis declined my offer of $40K out the door, which supports the idea that the Atlanta market may be a bit higher than other parts of the country.

Looking in April, when the deals were at their best, no dealership in the mid Atlantic or in Texas was willing to let a black 2013 R-Spec go for under $42k after rebates and before TTL. White may go for less because it's a less sought after color.

I think at 7% tax you are looking at more like 42k otd

A local dealer has verbally agreed to $41K out the door, but they don't have the color combo in stock yet. We'll see what happens.

Black on black always seems to cost a bit more lolz... We pay extra for the swirl marks!

If you do explore the out of state approach, make sure that the dealer you buy from does not collect sales tax from you. You pay it here in GA and it's now called TAVT (title ad valorem tax). Your TAVT will be 6.5% if you buy this year (takes the place of sales tax) and you should not have any annual ad valorem taxes going forward. I hate our new tax law, but at least there's some benefit if you keep the car a while.

Someone fat fingered the wrong price. If you look at the price the msrp is listed as 37k.
