Last week, I noticed my car downshifted into fifth gear and would not shift up or down. I pulled over. Turned the car off and restarted it and it was fine. The problem persisted. I took it to a mechanic who said he could find nothing wrong with it, didn't charge me anything and sent me on my way. Today, on the way to work it downshifted into fifth gear three times.
From what I've read it could either be a speed shift sensor or a Solenoid. I'm curious if anyone else has had this and how bad it was.
