  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does the USB interface support AAC lossless or other lossless formats? Or are all of the formats like MP3, etc. compressed? I am trying to figure out the best way to get my uncompressed music library on my PC in my car. Worse case I buy a ipod and convert my FLAC collection to AAC lossless. Either way I am stuck doing a conversion but that is OK. Well worth it so I do not have to shuffle thru discs which I do already for DVD-Audio discs etc..

Thanks Jay

I'm pretty sure the USB interface, as well as the Jukebox, support only MP3 audio. You can somewhat improve the audio quality by encoding your source material at 320 kbps.

I know the manual says it supports other formats but you are correct that it supports 320k. I think I will be buying an ipod and translating my files to apple lossless which may be played by the iphone and have the normal iphone/ipod music controls from the A/V system using the sync cable.

Thanks for the input.

I'd be surprised if you would be able to determine an audible difference between lossless and 320 kpbs mp3 with a factory automotive system (even the Lexicon 17).

All my music is on a USB stick. The sound quality primarily depends on the source material.
