  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The fist release of the 2014 Equus made before June 24th 2013 have a problem with the daytime running lights.. They do not come on. As of June 24th. all the new Equus made after June 23rd have the drl's working. My dealer worked very hard to solve this problem and they did. It was a 1 wire (ground wire) fix and the moving of a pin. I had called Hyundai customer service as soon as I noticed the problem, ( 2 days after getting the car) they were no help. I had them request a call to me from the zone office, The person who called was very helpful and contacted the dealer. Hyundai had a problem, corrected It by June 23rd. but never put out a service memo to the dealers. If your drl's don't work, look at the door panel and look for the build date. My dealer Jim Hudson and his service people were great. The person at the zone office was also outstanding In assisting me. The customer service people are worthless, If you have a real problem, open a case and request to speak to someone In the zone office, they get results. these vehicles are not cheap, so why not get what you paid for.

So you're saying cars built before June 23 CAN be fixed? And Hyundai knows how to do it?
I'm dense sometimes, that's why I'm asking...
Thanks!

Yes, they can be fixed .... It's a 1 wire fix.. and correcting a pin In the harness. Once my dealer figured It out the fix was about 15 minutes. Remember this applys only to the 2014 Equus built before June 24th

Thank you Radar for your detailed reply. Mystery solved because of you.

Please specifically identify what PIN number need to be mover in which wiring harness. Can you identify the source of an appropriate circuit diagram? Thanks.

Hello; Sorry, I don't have that Info, that Is what the service manager told me was done. I suggest you contact the Hyundai zone office In your area and they can further assist you. Sorry I could not be of more help.

No, This Is not a joke, I opened a case with Hyundai, and then requested a call back from the zone office. The person In the zone office called the dealership and got them to correct the problem.

Thanks I hope my dealership repair shop will follow up and fix mine! Thanks again for your help.

Good News! I had my DRL's installed last week and I'm very happy. Though its a small detail, I think it makes the car look more distinquished during the day. Huffines Hyundai McKinney had to special order the "Retro-fit Kit" from Korea and get a Hyundai regional rep to come and install the "Retro-fit Kit" and harness. Only took a day and I got to cruise around in a loaded Genesis R-Spec. :D

My drls quit working g And I have a 2011 Equus Ultimate. Any ideas? I haven't been able to find anything and the dealer says my car doesn't have them.

It absolutely does have them. They will not turn on when the car is in the parking gear, it needs to be in drive. Your highbeams (same bulbs for DRL) will work when in park if you turn them on.

Check that your high beams still work and then park in front of a wall (or have someone look at the front of the car) and put the car in drive to see if your DRL work when out of the parking gear.

If they don't, then it could be a wire, pin, relay, or other electrical issue.

When you figure out if you still have an issue, go to a different dealer or 3rd party shop. It sounds like the dealer you went to is full of shit.
