  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thursday morning I was broadsided by someone who ran a red light. The impact was mainly at the front drivers side wheel and the the two cars spun at each other and got the entire drivers side. The front wheel and suspension were all relocated toward the engine. My 2012 Genesis is totaled. I escaped with only sore shoulder and leg muscles. So is the 2014 about the same as the 2012? Did they bluelink the Genny yet? I'll hear from the insurance company next week and will start the buying process again, yuk.

I hope its the other driver's insurance you are working with. Also, do not sign off on accepting anything or releasing them from anything until you know for certain you and/or passengers have no injuries. An accident that bad usually results in an out of court settlement regarding injuries. The other driver owes you the full retail value of your car plus rental car fees, towing fees, storage fees, cost of being out of work, and of course doctors fees for checking for injuries.

Since the other guy ran a red light it's safe to assume they were at fault. So, his insurance (hope they were insured) will be the one you work with and of course it's the adjuster's job to pay out as little as possible.

But, to answer your question, I'm not sure the 2014s are even out yet. Seems everyone is waiting for the 2015 model since the change will be much more significant. The only question I can answer for you is bluelink is in the newer model. And best of luck.

2014's are available now, but not all dealers have them (may be dependent on their 2013 stock still remaining. 2015 US model is expected in May or June (subject to change).

The '13 comes with Bluelink too, so why not grab a good deal on one of those? Or, find a gently used '12 and be ready to jump into a '15, or '16 Genesis. Me? I'd pick up a good cheap car of any solid make and then grab a '15 Genesis next spring.

Just test drove a 2014 Rspec in Parisian Grey (very pretty color) with 26 miles on it two days ago and pretty much nothing has changed inside. It did have Bluelink and the ride is much better than my 2011 4.6.

Asking price was 46 large. My lease is up in August and I was thinking of upgrading to an Rspec this summer for the huge discounts you know will come to get rid of old stock. But after the numerous issues I have had with the steering wheel memory sensor, seat memory sensor, sagging seat bottoms, alignment issues, etc, I'm not to sure if I want to go that route again. Still have a problem with the steering memory and this will make three times in the shop for that issue.

The 2015 model...well....just not digging that grille. I really like the updated interior but the body styling is just meh. And you know there won't be any discounts on the 15 until all supplies of the 13's and 14's are exhausted.

What to do...what to do.

I have a 2013 Rspec with Blue link and paid 42.5K with tax.
I think you can find one for just under 40k if you search.

Oh absolutely.

I'll just wait until mid summer when the discounts will really add up. Not in any hurry at this time.

2013 r-specs selling for at least $11000 off in the Quad Cities
