  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 5.0 Speaker Sizes and Locations

I was under the understanding that all 5.0 were Ultimates? Learned something new today!🙂
No, not all 5.0 are ultimate packages, mine is not, but glad less things to break or go wrong

Hello. I can't find specifics on this in the forums. I have a 2015 5.0 with what I believe is the 14 speaker Lexicon (not sure how to tell if I have the 17 speaker system.) I'm looking to upgrade individual speakers in the car to improve sound quality but only speakers. I can't seem to get sizing information for all the speakers in the car from online resources. I would like to replace the deck subwoofer and maybe the speakers in the doors. I think the door speakers are 6.5" and the deck sub is a 6.75"? Not sure. Guidance is appreciated.
I doubt you will find much better than the installed Lexicon system. If it’s base that you’re after, and I’m guessing here, then add a sub-woofer. For a 2015 vehicle (going on 7 years old) it would also be an unwise and costly expenditure that you’d not recoup.

If your sub is still good, you can tap an external amp to power it. That's what I did with mine after installing a pair of subs & amp (all JBL). There is a quick disconnect on the driver side panel that opens up to gain access to the taillight assembly. I disconnected the sub from the factory amp & tied into the JBL amp after needing some room for a road trip. It was a huge improvement over the factory power that was going to it. If the engineers would have dedicated another 150 watts to the sub, it would have blended very good with the rest of the system. The amp that I am using is 1,400 watts (class AB), so, extra care was taken to prevent the amp from feeding the sub too much power.
