  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Spun a rod in my 2012 5.0 rspec. Having issues finding a replacement engine for my year. Will/would a 2015 5.0 swap in by chance even if it was a long block???

I beleive that the two engines may have different ECM modules and programming; so the 2015 engine may physically fit in the 2012 body, but may need an electrical modification/adaption to work. Just speculating.

That was one of the things I was worried about. I am hoping that all I would have to do was possibly use my front accessories and intake manifold and be good to go without any big modifications. Thank you for your reply.

Just swapped a 2016 equus motor and trans into a 2013 rspec. Mine spun a bearing as well. All the wiring plugs right exactly where it came from using the equus harness. Here are the issues I ran into so far. The engine would start run no issue. However esc light stays on. And shifter interlock will not disengage. Took it on a brief ride around the block. And there are definitely issues in communication modules/ecm. Will be swapping the entire harness later this week to see if I get a better result.

Did swapping out the harness help with the issue?
