In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Finally decided to modify the Genesis. I had a set of 22" wheels from a previous car sitting in the garage, so I am going to try those. I would prefer 20's on this car after seeing all the posts, but since i already had these, I am going to give them a try. having them custom painted a matte gunmetal finish, and wrapping them in 245/30/22 tires. I ordered Ark GT-S lowering springs as well, hoping these will drop it around an inch or so. Those will be here on Tuesday of next week. I am installing the OEM LED Fog lights on Monday. Just wiring these to be on all the time. i know 22's aren't a favorite around here, but i am hopeful that it will turn out good.

Nice! Where you from? And post pics after you get all that done!

been thinking about putting lowering springs on my 16 genesis. So the Ark Gt-S would do about an inch drop? I'm driving a rwd.

Would definitely love to see some pics btw man, I'm really interested in lowering and getting 20's in the future.

Wow 22"s will look bananas. But since you are going with 22"'s you should have went with the Ark GT-F springs. Another member (daerickbmw) on the forum gave me some great info because he had 20"'s and one of the first people to get the GT-S springs and they rubbed. He recommend me to get the GT-F springs which is about an inch drop compared to almost 2" drop on the GT-S. took is advice and the GT-F was a perfect drop fore me. Either way good luck and please post pics.

I think I have The S springs, the front rubs with I have my 20's mounted. not only that the front drop is quite low, maybe 1.6-1.8 and rear is about 1.4

I cna't even imagine a drop with 22' wheels. would be a challenge to drive

That is what I was wondering. Since it is a v6 I didn't know if the drop was going to be different being it's awd. Sounds like it is. Darn it.

So I should try the GT-F springs

I was hopeful that since it is the V6 the drop would be minimal, I guess the Awd add enough weight to drop it a bunch

I think the rear drop on both; V6 and V8 should be the same, IIRC, with "S" type it was 1.25" and now on "F" type is ~.75"

The front is different....on V8 the drop was 1.75", on V6 1.5" which is still too low (imho) shacks are compressed way too much and the "play" in them is minimal, the car is dangerous to drive, I'd say.

About rubbing on front - it probably wouldn't rub that much (or none at all) if you stay with OEM wheels or any aftermarket with the same offset. If you go with lower offset, it might start rubbing.

I have the tire size suggested by tire rack(255/35/20. on full right or left turns I have rubbed the wheel against the liner.the drop in my opinion is lower then I would prefer. Some speed bumps can rub the under belly.

I appreciate all the info and feedback. I was concerned with the "F" on my V6 the drop wouldn't be noticeable or worth it. Once again maybe it will be a little more than ARK suggests since it is AWD. Maybe I will try the GT-F as well and see which I like better.

I also read the drop will increase slightly after they get "broke in"

I drive a rwd v6 and plan on going with the F springs, I really like the look of the genesis already but think a little bit of drop would add what i'm looking for, eventually upgrade to 19 or 20's

I will have either the S or the F for sale after next week if you are interested. :). I bought both sets for my installer to try.

it took a while to get it all done, but i like it. the "F" springs lowered it about 3/4" and adding the wheels and tires brought it up just a bit. i love having the LED Fogs now. i also de-badged it.

That looks very good!! :encouragement:

I have almost exactly 1" gap from top of tire to bottom of fender. I think it is sitting pretty good.

Hey Tyler, I'm also from the KC area and friends with Justin Tanner. He had sent me pictures of your ride height a while back. It was a surprise to see the TCC Sign while scrolling through the forum today.
Car looks great, what part of the city are you in?

car/wheel/spring combo looks really good in my opinion....i have the S springs in my V8 car and wish the front wasnt so low....they got the rears spot on however...

i am in west Shawnee. he mentioned that he knew someone else with a Genesis. I have another set of lowering springs if you are interested! :)

Well, the 22's didn't last too long. after 3,000 miles, needed 3 new tires (I did use cheap tires, so mainly my fault), but it gave me an excuse to buy new wheels.. :) went to 20" Giovanna Spira FF wheels with Toyo tires.
