  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Equus (2011-2016)
I am purchasing a 2015 Equus. It still has 5 months and over 20k miles on the manufacturer's warranty. I understand that there is also a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty but I have read that it is not transferable.
Should I have any concerns about the lack of coverage? I have not found anything in my research to make me want to change my mind. Quite the opposite...external_left_front_3_4.jpg

extended warranties on these tech filled cars is worth the cost, and get the best warranty because the stuff that fails is always only covered in the platinum package. These are good reliable cars all things considered, but the cost of repair and exposure to numerous systems means at some point in time it will need some sort of expensive repair. Mine paid for itself within 6 months on my '15 Genesis 5.0 ultimate (DVD/SAT/NAV system failure). I love my car and don't regret purchase at all, just cover yourself.

Thanks for the info!

Is it a CPO? If so it may include a cpo 10/100 powertrain warranty. Either way get the HMA platinum wrap warranty which covers electronics. Nice car.
