If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hello Everyone,

I'm brand new to this website, so please forgive me if this is a duplicate topic. I've had my car for about a year and a half now. I'm in the process of scheduling an appointment for the 4th time to replace a burnt out front turn signal bulb/wiring harness. I'm very aware of the constant issue our cars have with this problem (specific to the 2015 models) and have had to replace the harnesses as well as the bulbs on multiple occasions.

My questions is, has anyone ever tried to lemon law the car due to this issue?

I spoke with my service manager last time about a permanent fix to this and his response was shocking, but honest. He told me to trade the car in and get a 2016 or newer, where they were able to fix the issue as there is no fix for the 2015 model.

All opinions welcome.

Thanks!

You can use an LED bulb, they make almost zero heat and last almost forever. THere are several threads in this forum on what models to purchase. My suggestion? get the bulbs, hand them to your dealer and have them put those in this time and never have this problem again. I did my own, it was quick and easy and haven't blown a bulb since.

Awesome thank you I had no idea. Which bulbs did you use?

I prefer VLEDs but you’ll find more options in the above link.

How do you swap the leads to the bulb harness? I've ordered some LEDs bulbs in the past but they wouldn't even turn on. I see several that show they work online but I don't want to waste more money.

Take an open paper clip or something similar and slide it in the back of the plug where the wires go in. There is a catch you need to press down to release the wire. Release both and swap, push back in and you're good to go.

I tried to do this today but I could not get the white plug to unclip from the headlight housing and I didn't wan to force it too much to break the actual bracket. I was able to unclip the the white plug that connects to the headlight but could not get the piece to come off from the bracket to try to swap the wires. Could I just splice the wires and cross them instead?

I have had the same issue with my 2015 almost since the day i bought it. The dealer just replaced the bulbs but with no improvement in either side of the car. Now out of warranty my mechanic has used a dielectric compound on the base of the bulb, before he installs it in the socket. It lasts about a year or more which is far better than what the dealer was getting. He also thinks its not just heat but also moisture getting inside of the socket that is killing the bulb so fast.
My mechanic can replace the bulbs in minutes without removing the parts that they say needs to come out in order to reach the socket, so don't let the dealer charge you crazy amounts to replace, especially the right front bulb.

Find a good honest mechanic!

Hope this helps

BTW I have had my CPO Genesis for 6 years, now at 107K miles and still love it, no major issues to speak of but glad I got the extended warranty to cover the big stuff.

I have a 2015 Genesis Ultimate, and I have had the bulb issue multiple times during the 6 years I have owned the car. It has been on both sides but primarily on the side, which is the most difficult to access (go figure) My old mechanic couldn't ever get them to last very long and we just kept replacing bulbs. He has since retired and my new mechanic replaced them when they blew out again, but he coated the base with dielectric compound which keeps moisture out of the socket. It has been quite some time since they have blown and btw, I've never replaced the wiring harness on mine.
Also, don't ever pay someone the flat rate to replace the bulbs as that gives them multiple hours to remove all of the stuff around the headlamp assembly - both mechanics were able to easily replace both side in a matter of minutes!
Hope that helps

Do these work for certain? Amazon shows they do not work with my 2015 Sedan 3.8 AWD.

Yes, they say they don't but they work fine, first one started hyperflashing after 12 months so I bought one more set and replaced it and back to working and looking great.

Just FYI, my local stealership quoted me $72 to replace the bulbs. It took me 5 minutes.

The right bulb is wired backwards for LEDs. You have to flip the wires. I added resistors to each side to prevent the hyper flashing.
