Hi there,
I recently bought a 2015 Genesis with the Ultimate package and thus the 9.2" navigation screen and am having some difficulty with updating the infotainment software. A little background: I am the 4th owner of this car and it appears the previous owners never updated the software/navigation system. The car did not come with an SD card installed, but if I go into the settings, the current software version is "dh.usa.sop.10.002". After doing some research, that appears to be the 2014 9.2" version, which is strange.
When I download try and install the update on either an SD card or USB drive, when I push the "Update" button, the audio turns off and none of the buttons on the Infotainment system work, but nothing else happens, even after letting it sit for 30 mins to 1 hour. I have tried this probably 15 different times and no success. Twice with the 2015 version of the software have I reached the screen that says "Verifying update file(s), this may take a maximum of 5 minutes". I let this run for several hours and it never advanced past this point. The other times, it never reaches that point. Every time i've tried an update, as soon as I select the "update" button, the indicator light on the flash drive stops blinking, which indicates the car is not interacting with the flash drive at all.
I contacted MapnSoft and they suggested I should try installing the 2014 version, since that is what is currently installed. This did not work either. They then suggested I unplug the battery for 4 hours and try installing the 2015 version with only the USB device, and that was also unsuccessful.
Here are the various combinations i've tried with no success:
- USB and SD with 2015 version
- USB only with 2015 version
- USB and SD with 2014 version
- USB only with 2014 version
- Bought an SD Card reader that plugs into the USB port
After all of this, they said I need to bring the vehicle into a dealer for a diagnostic, but that was something I was hoping to avoid.
Has anyone had this issue and figured out a way out of it?
Thank you,
- Dan
