2015 genesis led strip drl mod question

Okay, so I had looked into this mod before but I passed on it because it looks very difficult to achieve the results, and all of the mods i've seen on this fourm look very clunky (like lots of extra wires and fuses and drls that only works in parking light mode). However, I recently got more motivated to do it when one of my turn signals burned out recently. So my question is is there anyway to make the 2015 drl function work exactly the same as the 2016 US model? As in when the switchis in drl off, all lights are off, when in auto, the drl is the led strip, and headlights are on at night with the drl stripped dim, in parking light mode, parking lights with drl strip dimmed, and obviously in headlight mode, headlights on? The closest that I've gotten is this thread here: LED headlight strips as DRL
However, if I recall correctly, this doesn't let you turn off the led drls as in makes it like a canadian model (don't ask me why I want to be able to turn off the drls, but I'm in the US so I should be able to) Okay, so long story short, what is the difference in the wiring and the fuses and the programming in the 2016 US vs 2015 US for the drls that makes the LED strip the drl and would there be any simpler way than the mod in the fourm i linked? Sorry for this complicated post, but any replies and insights are appreciated.
