  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone I am up to my 3rd Genesis currently a 2015. I just got my car back from the dealer that had it for 2 days trying to find out why my right signal light is going out ( not blown) sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I have changed the bulb myself just to realize that it was still off. Any way the dealer told me today that I need it the entire headlight and gave me a price of $1700.
But I’m still not convinced even coming from the dealer that I need a complete headlight. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciate it.

If it's the turn indicator /drl, then Maybe the bulb socket is fried.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! Moving this into our second generation Genesis sedan section. :)

I can't believe they are trying to sell you an entire headlight for a $25 socket.

Tell them to check out TSB 19-BE-012H

This is the first paragraph of the TSB
Description: Follow the procedures in this bulletin if a Genesis Sedan (DH) vehicle has an inoperative front turn signal light. If the front left or right turn signal light socket is inoperative, it is not necessary to replace the entire headlamp assembly (the turn signal socket is available separately).

I can believe it... they're crooks.

Start first by inspecting the socket. Schematics are out there on Google though they are a bit cryptic.

Couldn't find the TSB above. Can you provide the link?

The only link I have is to the dealer side, which you won't have access to. PM me an email and I can send you the pdf file of it.

Thank you I’ll take a look and do some research.

I had the same issue with both of my front turn signals. The dealer tried to convince me that I was using cheap bulbs. They ended up replacing both sockets and the problem was solved.
