  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As you may have experienced, when the battery in the key fob gets low - the car alerts you. This happened to my '15 a few weeks ago. I changed the battery, but when I pulled out the old one I made note of the voltage. I think (didn't write it down) it was around 2.9 V.

It has given me the warning again. I checked the battery, and it's reading 2.93V. I have checked the discharge charts for the CR2032 batteries, and it's at a voltage where there should be around 44% more life or more. I'm going to swap FOBS and see if the old battery gives the same alarm in the other FOB. The batteries are not recent, however they are unused and are a name brand (Energizer).

Any experience here?

I replace them when I get the warning. Never bothered checking the voltage, especially under load. They seem to last about 12 to 15 months.

A little more digging... PICNIC (problem in chair, not in computer!). It appears I put the new battery a few weeks ago into the other key fob. I put that older (used) battery into this FOB. DOH! Interesting in that both died more or less the same time frame.
