  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

All interior parts except the steering wheel on my black Ultimate are holding up great. But the wheel is turning shiny and has that cheap look.

Is there some leather treatment that will restore the matte look? Or is this an inherent problem w/ Hyundai steering wheels?

Try Formula 409. I use it to remove body oils in areas usually touched frequently by skin like steering wheel, arm rests, etc. My guess is it's just oil build up. Spray on, let sit for a minute, then wipe with a wet washcloth. Try not to get it on any printed numbers/letters on switches. In older cars, it would sometimes remove them. Have not noticed it lately, but I wouldn't want you to have a problem. If you overspray on any clear glass or plastic, you'll need to follow up with window cleaner as it will spot them. I usually lay a towel over the dash and across my lap when I spray the steering wheel so it does not get everywhere and/or drip. My Gennie is too new at this point to need 409.

I clean my steering wheel every month with Meguiars D101 APC diluted 10/1 then apply any good leather conditioner like Lexol or Meguiars leather conditioner.

no issues with my steering wheel so far.
I use Turtle Wax leather treatment for the interior leather and for steering wheel as well

I'm having mine thickened up this week by a steering wheel specialist in Dallas. Such a skinny SW for a large car.
